Handmade Greek art pottery from Giasiranis Keramik, a workshop based on the island of Rhodes (Rhodos).
History
The Workshop: Giasiranis was one of many workshops that flourished on Rhodes during the mid-to-late 20th century (roughly the 1960s through the 1980s). This era was a "golden age" for Rhodian ceramics, largely inspired by the famous Ikaros (ICARO) factory, which revived traditional Iznik-style patterns and ancient Greek motifs.
The Style: Your plate features a classic Rhodian aesthetic: vibrant blue glazes, white "raised" enamel (slip-trailing), and stylized floral or geometric patterns. These designs often drew from a mix of Byzantine, Ottoman (Iznik), and indigenous Greek folk art.
