A custom-built gallery display of contemporary art. Inspired by and made for outdoors. Includes nine original artworks permanently fixed to a solid wooden block frame made from marine plywood. Materials: Low-VOC masonry paints and glazes applied in layers to locally sourced marine plywood. About the artist: Signed on the back by Sarah Lou. Sarah paints abstract expressionism she can pack in a rucksack. These designs were painted on a boat. Painting each wooden block separately, they each have a unique story. Patterns emerge and connect spontaneously and intuitively. The block frame gives order to chaos, while being reminiscent of childhood games. Sarah brands herself as 'Ms Aligned' due to her tendency to go outside of the lines in everything she does, while navigating life with vestibular migraines. There is a duality about her work; it reflects what her mind sees in the repeating patterns of nature, while treasuring the unexpected. Imperfections guaranteed: Embracing the Japanese philosophy of 'wabi-sabi', Ms Aligned paintings are intentionally imperfect with uneven textures created by multiple applications of mixed media that have braved all elements outdoors.
