Beautiful original Edwardian / late Victorian black skirt, featuring rare silk taffeta ruffle inserts and hand-stitched pintuck detailing along the hem. This is an authentic early 1900s garment, lightweight cotton/linen blend main body with luxurious silk trim.
The silk ruffles are in delicate, distressed condition (shattering, fraying), typical of silk garments from this era. The main body is sturdy and fully wearable. Has no functioning closure, currently pinned closed on mannequin, so buyer will need to add hooks/snaps.
