First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Composing Pictures by Donald W. Graham (Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1970). Rare true first edition oversized hardcover copy of this art instruction / history / technique / criticism book. Richly illustrated. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and small tears. Boards are straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. A few instances of faintly split binding though spine is straight and binding remains firm on the whole. Small but if staining to outer top fore corner of text block, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
