Dickies' first Begin special order features the word "Cordura" on the fabric tag! This is "Combat Wool," a notable material that retains the characteristics of wool while achieving high abrasion resistance. Before explaining "Combat Wool," let's talk about what Cordura is. It's a yarn and fabric made using nylon fibers developed by DuPont (now Invista). It's often used in items that require durability, such as outdoor gear and bags. There's also a fabric that blends Cordura fibers with cotton, which the U.S. military adopted in the 90s as a material for combat uniforms. Combat Wool is a modification of this, replacing the cotton with wool, and was created at the request of the U.S. military, who wanted to use it for the uniforms of their support units.

The preamble was long, but this is the first time Dickies has used this Combat Wool! The Eisenhower JK, which represents the brand, is known for its rugged appearance, but this one has a somewhat refined look. It doesn't look clumsy even when paired with sweatshirts or T-shirts; isn't it surprising how it looks rather mature?

The silhouette is slightly roomier than the American-made original Eisenhower JK, making it more contemporary and easier to layer.
