Levi's 501XXc 1937 Reproduction, Made in USA by Valencia, with Cinch Back

The 1937 501 is often described as a model with the charm of "transitional details," a combination of "remnants of old specifications" and "the rationality of the next era." While the cinch back remained, the suspender buttons began to be omitted, reflecting the era's trend of streamlining work-related features to only the "necessary ones." Furthermore, it's well-known that the back pocket rivets were moved to a less exposed position to address customer complaints (such as damaging furniture and saddles). The famous pocket flasher with the message "The Rivet's Still There" was used to indicate that "the rivets are still there" even though they were no longer visible from the outside, and this is often cited as a symbolic episode of this era. The red tab also corresponds to the Big E period introduced in 1936, and is mentioned as an element of the era's characteristics. This item has the button back stamp "555." In the LVC community, this stamp is often associated with the Valencia Street factory (SF), and while it's a difficult area to definitively state, it's a point that collectors pay attention to. The item was purchased in a dark indigo state (starched condition) and worn in, with the color fading developed by the owner. The whiskers, abrasion, and shading are natural, showing a "history of wear" different from processed items. The fading on the back of the knees (honeycombs) and the hem are particularly noteworthy.
