PF stands for Posture Foundation. The Posture Foundation insole was the first comfort technology designed specifically for sport shoes. It was a breakthrough in cushioning and support and became the brand name P-F in 1937. New Balance announced in January 2021 that it would discontinue the PF Flyers brand. However, in July 2021, Kassia Davis, the founder and CEO of KADA, acquired the brand from New Balance and relaunched it in the fall of that year.
