First Edition Period Vintage. Hand tipped-in on a board of heavy paper. Information regarding the original artwork will be found by lifting the plate.
This city streetscape of Paris, with its minimalist color palette and semi-abstract shapes was painted by celebrated French artist Maurice Utrillo (1993-1955) in 1909. Originally painted on cardboard, it depicts Rue de la Jonquiere, an avenue in Paris rarely captured by other artists. Maurice preferred this vantage point, seen from an attic window, because it was quiet, tucked away and absent from the noise and crowds that frequented other more popular and more fashionable streets in town.
