GATEWAY TO TIKI
For those who are familiar with the history of the Enchanted Tiki Room, or of the historic advertising campaign by United Air Lines promoting air travel to Hawaii, you may recognize the platform of this mug and the Lono tiki above. Each were inspired respectively. This Lono tiki was part of the promotional posters, marketing and advertising materials, and sculptural pieces that promoted the Enchanted Tiki Room, United Air Lines, or both!
With a love for the Enchanted Tiki Room, Hawaii, Tiki, and all things at the intersect of art in popular culture and advertising, Lost Tiki envisioned and designed this mug with the help of his friend Tom “THOR” Thordarson.
This mug is a direct follow-up and companion to our 2022 TikiLand Mug Society mystery mug, “Journey to Hawaii”.
