This is a rare, authentic late 1930s two-piece gown set. It includes a sheer, ruffled yellow overlay dress and the original matching yellow satin slip. A stunning example of pre-war fashion.
The Ensemble:
The Slip: Heavy, shiny yellow fabric (likely Rayon Satin/Acetate). It is sturdy, bias-cut style, and in excellent condition for its age.
The Overlay: Ethereal, stiff sheer netting/organza with incredible ruching at the waist and rows of ruffles. Closes with original side buttons.
CONDITION: AS-IS Please examine photos closely.
Slip: Excellent sturdy condition. Minor seam stress.
Overlay: Fragile. Multiple holes/breaks at the neckline and shoulders. Split seam on right sleeve (mendable). Tearing/separation at skirt seams.
Surface dirt/dust on the hem. Has NOT been laundered to protect the fabric.
