This item might be better for display than play. When I put batteries in both the car and remote, it does move forward and backwards pretty well, though not incredibly fast (pretty sure that was the case when this was new, as it is an off-road vehicle, not a street racer). There was a couple times when it would seize up and not move, likely from sticky gears from being in storage for so long. It also does not turn either direction, though it is possible you might be able to get that working by regreasing the gears. The remote seems to be doing what it should as when you turn the wheel either direction, the left and right arrows light up accordingly.
The contacts all look pretty great, luckily no sign of massive battery corrosion in its history. The remote had just a hint of green corrosion on one side - very minimal - and doesn’t impact the functionality.
The front drivers side tire has a crack it.
