W. H. Bartlett: The Citadel of Namur

W.H. Bartlett is the artist name in the left bottom corner of all four prints; his images inspired engravers. The four prints I have for sale were elaborately custom-framed at one time. William Henry Bartlett was born in London in 1809. Each print has a pink border, with a light green soft velvety fabric mat, framed in light gold-silver colored wood frames. This print is entitled The Citadel of Namur, a castle in Belgium, with the engraver’s name A.H Payne in the right bottom corner. The print is 5 x 6.5 inches. The print has some foxing above the title (see last photo). Frame has some nicks and the fabric shows shadows and some mild indents (see photos). Total size is 12.5 x 13.75 inches. Backing has some minor tears from the driving points used in the framing process. This image is beautifully detailed—I love the baby in the cradle in the bottom right corner!
